Madison native, Stacey (Stitgen) Meanwell, has been pursuing her interest in photography for over 40 years. A 1984 graduate of UW-Madison and 2003 graduate of the NY Institute of Photography, she has continued her photographic education with master photographers Barbara Bordnick, Harold Davis, Tony Sweet, John Gregor, Jim Zuckerman, Greg Duncan, Jack Graham and George DeWolfe. She is also active at the Center for Photography in Madison (CPM).

Meanwell has sold thousands of her unique custom cards, “The Card That Keeps on Giving®” since 1997. They are currently for sale at the Monona Terrace Gift shop. At her daughter Sarah’s urging, Stacey began submitting exhibit proposals that have led to her work being featured in over 20 exhibits. Many of her images are included in permanent collections of art in the Monroe hospital, Mayo Clinic and American Girl, among others.

Further, Meanwell has established a business relationship with Hahnemühle Fine Art paper that has led to her work being shown in New York and Las Vegas. In addition, Hahnemüehle Fine Art featured her custom printed book, “Buying Locally, World-Wide”, at the 2012 PhotoPlus International Conference and Expo in New York. There, she also signed limited-edition prints of her image, “Pegasus”. Of note, one of her floral images is featured on the box cover of their new digital paper, Hahnemühle Photo, sold worldwide.

Meanwell resides in Madison with her husband, Walter, and has two children: Sarah, age 23 and Reis, 25.
